A top note with bright, lemony and fruity sweet odor. The fragrance doesn’t linger for long. Some batches are sweeter while others are more lemony.

 

The primary area of production is Southern Italy, Calabria and accounts for 80% of Bergamot oil on the market. In addition to southern Italy, the fruit is also produced in Argentina, Brazil, Algeria, the Ivory Coast, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, China and South-East Asia where it has its roots. It is cold expressed from the relatively unripe fruit rinds November through March.

Antioxidant, digestive stimulant, detoxicant, appetite suppressant, analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibiotic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, stomachic, calmative, cicatrisant, deodorant, febrifuge, vermifuge and vulnerary.

Bergamot essential oil can be helpful for general achiness with inflammation especially if accompanied with depression or dysregulation of the mental and emotional body. It increases circulation and supports tissue healing. Digestively Bergamot is a true ally: It calms the stomach, treats nausea, food stagnation, and poor digestion or assimilation.
